First Seaport Application of BCAS Mobile and Volacopter LZ73-PRO

BMF Port Burgas, the biggest cargo seaport in Bulgaria, entrusted Volacom with creating a bird control concept for tackling the pressing problem of seagulls and pigeons damaging port assets and goods stored in open-air storage facilities and areas. After an in-depth analysis and a number of site visits, Volacom experts recommended the most appropriate solution, which was approved by the port’s management and a contract awarded, foreseeing the supply of a BCAS Mobile unit, comprising two powerful acoustic emitters, and a bird deterrence UAV – the Volacopter LZ73-PRO. The goods were successfully delivered and commissioned in December 2018 and a training course for port operators was carried out.
